Counseling and Technical Assistance Program

Consulting work was carried out and technical assistance was rendered to the following institutions:

> Buenos Aires City Government
Preparation of macroeconomic and fiscal revenue projections to support budgeting within this government unit. (2000-to date)

> Treasury Attorney-General’s Office
Collaboration for drafting the arguments to defend the Argentine position in two cases filed at ICSID, by preparing expert documents on macroeconomic topics (2006)

> Technical Assistance Agreement between CEDES and FLACSO Ecuador

CEDES is developing an analysis of the Argentine experience after ending the Convertibility scheme that had been in effect since 1991. It considers the institutional mechanisms within which the crisis was processed and the economic and legal consequences of abandoning the macroeconomic scheme. The research seeks to determine elements that help detect the similarities and differences with Ecuador’s dollarization process.
