> “Health and Public Policy” Seminars
The Seminars on Health and Public Policy of CEDES, organized by Daniel Maceira, have been held during 2002-2007.
The first cycle was carried out with the institutional and financial support of the Agencia Nacional de Promoción Científica y Tecnológica, and it has been supported by the Pan American Health Organization since the second year.
Its purpose was to contribute to building a bridge between academic production and public policies in health, by creating a multidisciplinary reflection space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences of specialists from various disciplines presently working in the field of public health.
The seminars organized in eight monthly annual meetings (with the exception of 2005 where the seminars were six). All of them took placed at CEDES. Research studies and debates discussed during the seminars until 2006 have been published as working documents by CEDES and distributed to sixty health and social science library around the country.
Since 2006, the seminars in Health and Public Policy have an annual thematic line that for 2006 was “Health Primary Care” and for 2007 was “Social actors and the social agenda in the Argentinean Health System”. The 2006 seminars was all published as a book.

> Summer Internship Program (2004-2006)
The purpose of this program was to offer young recent economics graduates or students of economics in the last semester of their careers the opportunity to take part in the Economics Department of the CEDES carrying out part-time activities for a period of three months.
The program was coordinated by senior researchers of CEDES and it was held during the period 2004-2006.

Thanks to the support of the Ford Foundation, in 2003 CEDES was able to renew the Young Researchers Training Program in Economics. Applicants are current students of the Master Program in Economics, School of Economics, Universidad de Buenos Aires and, together with their graduate studies, fulfill research activities under the supervision of the researchers Roberto Frenkel and Mario Damill. The program covers period 2003-2007.
> SeCECEDES-Internal Economic Seminars of CEDES
SeCECEDES was a cycle of internal seminars of the Department of Economics. These bi-monthly seminars were held in CEDES during 2004. It strives to generate a space for the exchange of ideas, and some knowledge about the projects and work of the researchers, thus promoting an internal debate.

> Forum on Pharmaceuticals (CEDES-CIPPEC)
The “Forum on Pharmaceuticals” was a joint initiative by the Center for the Study of State and Society (CEDES) and Center for the Implementation of Public Policies Promoting Equity and Growth (CIPPEC) to generate a new space for exchanging ideas between specialists and public officials in the health care area.
The objective was to assume the commitment to open a public debate and contribute to clarifying the positions of diverse actors: pharmacists, laboratories, and the public sector, among which are the monitoring and pharmacovigilence organizations within the framework of institutional and regulatory changes.
The Forum was organized in several meetings during 2003 and the participants were specialists and public officials that discussed different themes linked to drug policies.
Daniel Maceira acted as counterpart for CEDES in the organization of the seminars.

> CEDES-UNL Seminars
The seminars are a joint initiative between CEDES and the Escuela Superior de Sanidad "Dr. Ramón Carrillo", School of Biochemistry and Biological Sciences, Universidad Nacional del Litoral. It is part of an agreement between the two institutions in scientific fields. Daniel Maceira was a promoter of this initiative and acts on behalf of CEDES. The series was held during the period 2003.

> Debate Workshop "Reform and Health Care in Argentina" (CEDES-World Bank)
The workshop consisted of a series of debates with experts in the Argentine health care area organized by CEDES and the Human Development Department for the Latin American Region and the Caribbean of the World Bank.
The meetings sought to contribute to the development of a diagnosis of the health care sector and to the discussion of reform options in the field. They were held at CEDES by the coordination of Daniel Maceira in the second quarter of 2002.
