It is noteworthy that CEDES has benefited from the support of the
Ford Foundation since the Center was created in 1975. The support
has varied, including grants for researchers to continue their studies
abroad, subsidies for research projects or programs and graduate
training in diverse areas of CEDES, and funds for the purchase of
a building for the functioning of the Institution. Even though CEDES
has enjoyed institutional support and projects coming from many
sources of national and international financing for over thirty
years, the support of the Ford Foundation has unquestionably been
vital to the institutional strengthening of CEDES and to the academic
and professional development of its members.
