Activities/Research
The objective of the research activities is to produce knowledge with a view to contributing to the advancement of scientific learning; the strengthening of an informed public debate; and the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies.

Activities/Training and dissemination
The various training and dissemination activities include: teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels at institutions and national and international universities; holding internal academic meetings; organizing seminars, meetings and workshops for discussions with the general public and/or with key researchers working on the relevant issues; and providing the community with services from the Information Center (CI-CEDES) that compiles, organizes and disseminates information related to the institution’s departments.
The objectives of these activities are: 1) to disseminate the research findings with a view to contributing to social debate; 2) to generate academic spaces for theoretical and methodological exchange and discussion; 3) to transfer knowledge to foster public opinion, promote the defense of human rights and contribute to the design, evaluation, and control of public policies; and 4) to participate in academic networks dedicated to the diffusion of scientific knowledge.

Activities/Consultancy
The consultancy activities target national and international academic institutions, national and international organizations, nongovernmental organizations, and public and private entities. The activities are offered at the different stages of the research process: project formulation and presentation, data collection, processing, and analysis, and strategies to disseminate the findings.
The objectives guiding these activities are: 1) to improve the research skills of teams working in themes related to the interests of CEDES; 2) to assist governmental institutions in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policies and programs; and 3) to advise nongovernmental organizations on ways to improve their management and performance.
